WPPN – Secretariat & Staff

The Secretariat of Waterford Public Participation Network (PPN) is made up entirely of volunteers and plays a central leadership and governance role within the PPN structure. While each PPN may operate slightly differently, the role is broadly guided by the framework set out by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht.

The Secretariat is essentially the steering and oversight group of the PPN. It ensures the network runs effectively, transparently and in line with its purpose.

The Waterford PPN Secretariat is a key part of the network, acting as its administrative arm. It takes direction from the Plenary, which is made up of all PPN member groups, and represents over 800 member groups across Waterford. It operates as a flat structure with no officers and serves as the main point of contact between the community and Waterford City and County Council.
