It can be a facility where the community rent or make the hall available to various local groups and may have facilities such as shared kitchen, small or large meeting room, stage, large hall etc.

The centre may be a single purpose organisation (e.g. youth, elderly, sports, religious), but the applicant must be able to clearly demonstrate that they are open to, and used by, the wider community to a good extent.

Organisations must have been established a minimum of 2 years prior to the application opening date to be eligible to apply for funding under this grant.

Eligible organisations who wish to apply must demonstrate that the centre is currently used by community groups. The fund is for refurbishment of existing premises.

Applicants must be not for profit community and voluntary organisations.

Both incorporated and unincorporated organisations can apply for either Category 1 or Category 2 grants.
