Community groups and individuals across Waterford are encouraged to take part in a national public consultation that will help shape Ireland’s next Water Action Plan.

The consultation is seeking views on the key water management issues affecting our rivers, lakes, streams, estuaries, coastline and groundwater. Feedback received will help determine the priorities and actions included in the fourth-cycle Water Action Plan.
You don’t need to write a lengthy submission to make a difference. Even a short response highlighting local issues, experiences or concerns can provide valuable insight and help protect and improve our water environment.
The Sustainable Water Network (SWAN), a coalition of 25 environmental organisations, is encouraging community groups to get involved and has produced a summary of recommendations that groups can use to help prepare their submissions.
Submissions can be made online, by email or by post. The consultation closes at 5pm on Friday, 19 June.
If your group has an interest in local rivers, beaches, biodiversity, water quality or environmental protection, this is an excellent opportunity to ensure your voice is heard.
