This scheme is designed to support community-led initiatives such as citizen science surveys, workshops, clean-up events, biodiversity signage, educational campaigns, and other creative activities that encourage people to care for and connect with their local water environment.

What Can Be Funded

The scheme is ideal for smaller-scale projects that make a real difference, such as:

  • Hosting a water awareness workshop or school event

  • Running a community survey or citizen science project

  • Installing interpretive signage near local rivers or wetlands

  • Organising a litter pick or awareness day

  • Producing educational materials about your local waterways

How It Works

  • The scheme supports small-scale initiatives and events that fall outside the larger LAWPRO funding rounds.

  • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged.

  • Interested groups should contact their local Community Water Officer before applying to discuss their ideas and eligibility.

  • Please note that Heritage Week events are not included under this scheme.
